About the report
The International SOS Foundation is pleased to announce a new whitepaper, 'Extreme Weather and Natural Disasters Security Impacts on Domestic and Global Workforces', which explores the escalating security implications of extreme weather events and their profound impact on domestic and global workforces. It draws on frontline data, regional case studies, and expert insights to highlight how natural volatility is acting as a “threat multiplier”, exacerbating conflict, displacing populations, disrupting infrastructure, and straining essential resources like food and water.
This report builds on the Foundation’s earlier publication, "Extreme Weather – Health Impacts on the Global Workforce," which highlighted the rising toll of natural hazards on employee wellbeing, from heat stress and respiratory illnesses to mental health strain and operational disruptions. Together, these reports underscore the
dual challenge organisations face: protecting both the physical safety and health resilience of their people.
Key areas of the report:
- Keeping people safe: Measures for emergency preparedness and workforce protection.
- Regional insights: Tailored approaches for diverse environments, from heatwaves to flooding.
- Support frameworks: Steps to maintain wellbeing and access to critical resources during crises.
- Real-world examples: How organisations have successfully supported employees during natural disasters.
To discuss the report findings and guidance, we will host two expert led live webinars on 15 January 2026, 08:00 AM & 15:00 PM (GMT): Register here.
