Mike Williams

Mike Williams joined Hiscox in 2004 within the Retail division’s Art and Private Client business. He subsequently broadened his market and underwriting experience with Lancashire Insurance Company from 2007, followed by roles at Pembroke Syndicate 4000 (2010) and Hardy Syndicate 382 (2012).

He returned to Hiscox in 2013, deputising on the US Major Property account before becoming Line Underwriter for Major Property. In 2016 he assumed responsibility for the full major property portfolio, comprising U.S., International, Power and Mining, and in 2017 took on additional oversight of the Commercial Lines binder portfolio.
Mike was appointed Divisional Director of Specialty for Hiscox London Market in July 2018, leading Alternative Distribution, Terrorism and Personal Accident. His remit expanded in 2019 to include Product Recall, Space, Yachts and oversight of the Miami MGA.

In 2020 the division merged with Special Risks under the new named division called Crisis Management.
In January 2022 Mike relocated to Guernsey to become Managing Director of Hiscox Insurance Company (Guernsey) Limited and Hiscox Insurance Services Limited. He continues to serve concurrently as Divisional Director of Crisis Management, operating across Guernsey, London and Miami. His responsibilities include leadership of the Guernsey regulated entities, strategic oversight of global crisis management portfolios, and accountability for financial, operational and governance performance across his areas of remit.
