Duncan Manning
VP Corporate Security, Shell
Duncan joined Shell in 2013 after 19 years of service in the Royal Marines, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. A varied and successful career saw him fulfill a number of desk and leadership appointments including: attendance at the United States Marine Corps University and Project Management positions, in Kabul working alongside the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and delivering a National level specialist response during the 2012 London Olympics. He has completed 3 operational tours in Afghanistan, during which he was awarded a Mention in Dispatches.
His appointment as the VP Corporate Security (and Group crisis Chief of Staff) in May 2019 follows 6 years as the combined Business Opportunity Manager and Asset Manager for Brent working in the upstream business in Aberdeen.
A graduate from the University of Aberdeen in Geography and International Relations, he also holds a Masters’ degree from the USMC University.
Duncan is married and has two grown up sons. He is keen on all competitive sports, in particular: Running, Cycling and Paragliding.
